The Duo-2 is a new and enhanced, highly adjustable specialist seating system, for higher dependency users with complex postural management and pressure care needs. Many seating configurations ensure head to toe postural asymmetries can be fully stabilised due to many adjustable functionalities, providing clinicians with maximum adaptability to optimise pressure, function and comfort for users in all environments.

The Duo-2 Major is also available with regulated motion as standard, enabling the chair to automatically move through the tilt positions and has a ‘lock-out’ function on the ergonomic handset. Pressure relief can be integrated into the Duo-2 using the Dyna-Tek® Intelligent Air cushion for those who are at Very High Risk or with a Category 4 pressure ulcer.

Alternatively, the Duo-2 enables the user to integrate their own pressure relieving cushion into the seat module of the chair or apply it to a flat seat board upon which it can be effectively used.

The handset provides the option to lock Regulated Motion settings to ensure the user’s pressure is continually redistributed, or lock the back angle recline. The new handset also includes battery level indicator and service light indicator to ensure minimal down-time.

Powered Actuation - An electrically powered specialist seating system, using a battery system to and handset to control tilt-in-space, back angle recline and leg rest elevation	Powered actuation can increase independence, allowing the user to adjust their own position easily. It can also assist the user’s carers to adjust repositioning easily
Regulated Motion available as standard	Regulated motion provides the benefits of powered actuation with additional pressure redistributing benefits. This feature provides an additional level of pressure care management, particularly for individuals who do not have a carer present at all time.
Tool-free adjustment	The Duo-2 can be easily adjusted to the patient without the need for tools, resulting in no down time
Removable arms	Provides the option for side transfers
Available with waterfall or sculpted backrest	Waterfall – enhances comfort by reducing pressure and supports lumbar region. A good choice for those with scoliosis. Sculpted – good lumbar support offering a better seated position.
Back angle recline	Seat to back angle adjusts to open up the hip angle. Assists with comfort and reduces abdominal pressure. Accommodates reduced hip flexion range of movement, and helps alleviate any associated pain. Back angle will be dependent on hip range of movement and pelvic stability.
Pommel (optional accessory)	Can encourage thigh alignment and assist with pelvic stability. Can be utilised to support postural challenges such as wind-sweeping or tight hip abductor.
Angle adjustable footrest	Can accommodate fixed angles of plantarflexion at the ankle or correct foot posture to a more neutral position for comfort and pressure distribution. Also encourages postural stability to allow freedom of movement in the upper limbs from their load-bearing role.
Arcing legrest without compromising footboard position	Encourages lower limb alignment and aids pelvic stability. Leg laterals may enable users to maintain a lower limb midline

Dartex

To ensure the pressure relieving properties of your chair are working to their full potential we highly recommend the use of Dartex on all user contact surfaces. Dartex is a strong, multi stretch, vapour permeable fabric which is simple to wipe clean and truly complements the pressure relief incorporated into our chairs. This waterproof material is available in three different colours.
